A picture to remember...

I don't know so much about photography, i like photos but i never know who has taken that photo, or if there's a history behind it. So i started to search famous pictures on internet, and i found some that i have seen before. I remember that when i saw this picture i was a little girl, it was a real discovery, people were talking about it on TV news and on internet, so it's really famous.
The picture was taken on August 19, 1999, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville Tn by Michael Clancy , and it shows an unborn child holding the hand of a doctor who recently had saved his life by a surgery of a big risk. The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. The surgeons decided to perform a new technique, a special operation while the baby still in the bomb. When the surgery was finishing the baby reached his hand through the incision and held the finger of the surgeon.
I listened that that was the way of the baby to give thanks to the doctor for saving his life, and i remember that i was really amazed about it. I love this picture because it shows the real meaning of love, a person taking a risk to save a life, and that baby holding his finger as a thank for that.
