About books and the life...

Books.... It is hard.... i've read many books, but now i can't remember one. I used to love compilations of short stories book, because there was many ideas to think about... Now i remember, there was something especial about a book, it's a diary of a child and in this diary he tell us his life and a lot of stories.

The name of this book is "Heart: diary of  child" (Corazón: Diario de un niño), written by the italian novelist Edmondo de Amicis. It's set on the italian city of turin.

This book narrates the daily life of a child named Enrico Bottini a 9 years old student, he goes to an italian school. In this diary he talks about his classmates, who come from a working class origin, and their stories, everyone has a hard life with different problems of a daily life in the poverty.  Also the teacher narrates to the students a monthly story, and the stories talks about similar experiences, beautiful and maybe a little sad stories but these are stories that show us a little bit of reality of that time. Also sometimes Enrico's parents send him some letters, and that is the way we can see how they talk to him, it's the way that they use to communicate with their son.

It has a beautiful message, in every story revolves around a different moral value. Enrico has an upper class background, and with every experience that he lives in the book he starts to learn more about the real life and very important values as to help people in need.
I really like this because it makes me think about life, i can see on it reality, what i feel with this book seems so real and that is the feel that i look for when i read a book, i specially like the books that bring you to the reality of people, i totally recommended it. So if you have some free time read it.

Phobias!

A phobia is a type of anxiety disorder, a persistent fear of an object or situation in which the sufferer commits to great lengths in avoiding, typically disproportional to the actual danger posed, often being recognized as irrational..... That sounds bad :(

I don't know if i have any phobia, a phobia it's something really serious, but sometimes i feel scared.
I used to be afraid of the dark since i was a child, it is called Nyctophobia it was horrible, because when i woke up in the middle of the night i could be awake for hours waiting for the sunlight, i was afraid of every sound that i listened in the night, imagining monsters or something like that watching me. I can now say i'm cured of my phobia, but it's something really maddening, i hope no one  feels so bad as i felt those nigths.

I found it, it's a really weird phobia, it's called Lachanophobia, This is the Fear of vegetables. When i read this i just laughed, sorry, i know this is something that really hapens to some people, but it sounds very funny. I just can't imagine a person running away when you see a vegetable.

Finally, phobias are something serious, thousands of people are suffering because of it.
I hope you enjoyed it.

A picture to remember...

I don't know so much about photography, i like photos but i never know who has taken that photo, or if there's a history behind it. So i started to search famous pictures on internet, and i found some that i have seen before. I remember that when i saw this picture i was a little girl, it was a real discovery, people were talking about it on TV news and on internet, so it's really famous.
The picture was taken on August 19, 1999, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville Tn by Michael Clancy , and it shows an unborn child holding the hand of a doctor who recently had saved his life by a surgery of a big risk. The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. The surgeons decided to perform a new technique, a special operation while the baby still in the bomb. When the surgery was finishing the baby reached his hand through the incision and held the finger of the surgeon.
I listened that that was the way of the baby to give thanks to the doctor for saving his life, and i remember that i was really amazed about it. I love this picture because it shows the real meaning of love, a person taking a risk to save a life, and that baby holding his finger as a thank for that.

A lot like love

I think that I don't have a favourite movie, I just love movies, except from the terror movies. The most of the people likes terror movies, but it has no sense for me. I avoid to see drama movies, because I easily cry with that kind of movies, and obviously I don't enjoy crying, I prefer comedy movies. So getting back to the subject, I will write about a movie that I really liked when I saw it, the problem was that I saw it on cable TV, so I didn't know the name of that movie. A few months ago I found it by chance.
The name of the movie it's "A lot like love". It tells a story about two persons that met by chance, their names are Emily and Oliver.

They are a very weird couple, because they met occasionally, but they are not really dating, they just enjoy the company of the other, and when someone of them are in troubles, they just look for the other to tell him their problems, it's a lot like love, but they say that it isn't love.

They start a lot of reunions with the passing of the time, eventually they fall in love.
Oliver it's the first to see it, but it won't be till the final of the movie when Emily finally decides to take the risk of tell Oliver that she loves him too.
This movie was filmed on New York city, and was released on April 21, 2005.

Characters
Ashton Kutcher as Oliver Martin
Amanda Peet as Emily Friehl
Kathryn Hahn as Michelle
Kal Penn as Jeeter
Ali Larter as Gina
Taryn Manning as Ellen Martin
Tyrone Giordano as Graham Martin
Amy Aquino as Diane Martin
Gabriel Mann as Peter
Jeremy Sisto as Ben Miller
Moon Bloodgood as Bridget

I think that I love this movie, because it isn't like the common of the romantic movies, for me it is more realistic, Is not a perfect couple with a  perfect story, it's more human. And also it's a really funny movie, so let me suggest you to see it, enjoy it ;)

Expectations

What to expect? It's a question difficult to answer..... I don't know what to expect. Right now i'm studying Ondontology at Chile's University, but i'm not really sure of what to expect from the life or this term. I wasn't sure about what to study, so i'm trying to find something to do with my life, Odontology it's a beautiful career, but i still vacillating about what to do.
This term i'm doing subjects as Biological bases, Anatomical bases, Chemistry, Physics, English, Skill's development and self-care for the professional exercise, also as an elective subject i've chosen culture and society. My subjects are very interesting and it would fantastic to study them if i had a little time to study after a lot of homework that we have to do everyday.
I'm not taking any extracurricular activity, i don't have time for it, maybe the next year i would take any sport, i like to swim, that's the only sport that i can do. I'm not part of any other activity at the university.
Finally i think that what i expect from this year is to find my vocation, fall in love with a profession, i hope that that profession would be Odontology, but if it isn't i hope to find the curse of my life.

About me

My full name is Carolina Isabella González Palomo. I was born in Santiago, Chile, on the 22th October 1995. I have studied in two schools. The first is the Porvenir´s Adventist  school, where I went until I was on third grade, then I was moved to a second school, Emmanuel High school (It isn't really a high school, but i think that they liked the way that it sounds so they called the school with that name), where I went until I finished my secondary school, the last year. I’m currently studying Odontology at Chile's University.

My family is a very big one, so I’m going to write about my immediately family. My mother is teacher, but actually she is working as a administrative personal in a school, also she has a beautiful voice and i love to listen her singing, and my father is a graphic designer, he’s like an artist, because he also writes poetry, and makes lovely pictures. So I live with them and my little brother, who isn’t too small because he is taller than me, but it’s younger than me so I  say that he is small.

When I have free time I like to sing and play songs, because i love music, I like to play the guitar, the traverse flute and a just a little kind of piano. I also enjoy the movies and eat a lot of fast food, but I especially like the candies and chocolates. These last ones are my obsession.

I don´t have any pets, because I live in a apartment, but I really want to have one. I love dogs, once I had a dog, his name was Lili, but we had to give it to my grandmother because that dog destroyed the house, that dog ate our chairs, walls and a lot of little things that we may never know. Probably that dog was wild or alien, but i am still wanting a dog.

(Lili, i miss you :c)

If we talk about sports I have to say that I’m a real mess in any kind of it, maybe it's because my feet are amorphous, so i can't walk and run like the normal people... I'm joking, the real problem is that i'm a really lazy person. So that’s all for today. This is my story, this is my life.
